Backup and disaster recovery

Backup and disaster recovery

Verified backups, defined retention and a tested recovery plan: the difference between an incident and a multi-day outage.

Data in Andorra. Continuity in Spain.

Many companies have backups, but few have checked whether they can be restored. A backup without a restore test is an assumption. The purpose of this service is to keep a copy outside the primary environment, verify it and document how the business gets back to work.

Situations we find

  • Backups on a USB disk attached to the very server being protected.
  • Nobody reviews backup error alerts until a restore is needed.
  • No copy outside the office: a fire or theft takes data and backup together.
  • Ransomware that also encrypts backup drives reachable from the network.

What it includes

  • Managed backup

Configuration, execution and daily supervision of server, data and mailbox backups.

  • Copy outside the primary environment

Replication to Seintec's own data centre in Spain, separate from production.

  • Restore testing

Scheduled test restores to confirm that data comes back and how long it takes.

  • Recovery plan

A document with system start-up order, owners and the steps to resume operations.

How we work

  1. 1Assessment: what data exists, where it lives and how long each system can be down.
  2. 2Design: scope, frequency, retention and recovery objectives.
  3. 3Deployment: backup rollout, initial verification and documentation.
  4. 4Support: supervision, periodic testing and policy review.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly gets backed up?
It is defined during the assessment: full servers, data folders, databases, Microsoft 365 mailboxes or a combination. What matters is covering whatever stops the business if it disappears.
Where is the backup stored?
In a location separate from the primary environment. Seintec has infrastructure at the Andorra Telecom Data Center (La Massana) and a second data centre of its own in Spain acting as the backup location.
Is the backup verified?
Yes. Scheduled test restores are performed and the result is recorded, including how long recovery takes.
Does it protect against ransomware?
Backups are designed not to be reachable from production machines, so network-wide encryption does not reach the repository. It is one measure among others, including endpoint protection and access control.

If you do not know how long it would take to recover your systems after an incident, that is exactly what the IT audit answers.

Tell us how things stand today and we will review your current infrastructure: servers, backups, access and security. You will receive a report with findings and priorities.

We never ask for passwords or confidential details about your systems.
